I have been associated with the appaloosa breed in the UK since 1981 when, as a serving Police Officer I was sent to investigate stray horses running loose on the roads. I arrived, to find animals of all shapes and sizes wondering about aimlessly but in particular, one very weedy but extremely pretty spotted yearling filly. I had never seen anything like her before and right from the start she won me over. I dealt with the situation but afterwards couldn't get the filly out of my mind. Not 24 hours later, allowing my heart rule my head, and after discussions with the owner, I agreed to buy her without giving any consideration to where I would put her or what the heck I was going to do with her.
I named her Pepper and she later became registered with The British Appaloosa Society and the APHC as "Northern Star"
I had no idea at the time but she was to become the first of many appaloosas in my life !
I've come such a long way since then.
I now live on a peaceful smallholding with my husband (and soul mate) nestled on the rural outskirts of Doncaster in South Yorkshire where we both enjoy our colourful horses. I have gained over 30 Years of experience and knowledge of the breed and made many good friends along the way!
When we choose to breed, we aim for type and temperament, choosing to breed main registered Appaloosas with stamina, intelligence and versatility.
Our aim is to produce good all round, sane performers with highly coloured coat patterns.
Our horses are happy and calm individuals. Our foals are well handled from the day they are born and before they leave us they are taught to behave well around people.
We are always more than happy to chat to like minded people.
